Ne Me Quitte Pas: Piaf and Brel, the Impossible Concert
“Every damn fool thing you do in life, you pay for.”
Ne me Quitte Pas: Piaf and Brel, the Impossible Concert is a musical tribute to the lives and talents of French musical icons Jacques Brel and Edith Piaf. They sang songs of romance, heartbreak, hope and love. They lived lives of drama and passion. However, they didn’t ever perform on the same stage. This ‘impossible’ concert, with veteran performers Bremner Duthie and Melanie Gall, relives the adventure and inspiration of their lives and music. Featuring ‘Amsterdam’, ‘La Vie en Rose’, ‘Hymne a l’Amour’ and other French classics.
Melanie has performed all over the world, including the Semaine de la Francophonie celebrations in Argentina and Uruguay, the American Spring Festival in the Czech Republic, and solo concerts in South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Bremner is an accomplished performer – he has toured the world singing opera, jazz and cabaret, performing in venues that vary all the way from 3000-seat arenas in Tokyo to improvised atelier loft theatres in Paris and Edinburgh.
